Mark Zathey
Assist/Goalie Coach

Mark Zathey joins the Bucks staff for his first year in 2010. Mark has
served the Northville Soccer Association, now named Michigan Rush as
the club’s Technical Director since 2001. Zathey served the Madonna
University Women’s program as head coach in 2001 and coached the team
through the 2005 fall season. Zathey’s coaching record at Madonna from
’01-’05 was 71-21-12, for a .740 winning percentage. Madonna won the
Wolverine-Hoosier Conference Championship ’01, ’02, ’03, ’04, and ’05.
The team finished with a top 25 ranking every year.

Zathey has served the MSYSA Olympic Development Program since 1999 in
various coaching roles. Zathey has served as the director of coaching
for the boys ODP from 2006 to present. Zathey also serves MSYSA in the
role of coaching education staff instructor since 2003 to present.

As a player, Zathey’s played college soccer in Livonia, MI at Madonna
University from ’94-’97. Zathey served the team in the role of
goalkeeper, and captained the team for the ’96 & ’97 seasons. Zathey
earned a Bachelor’s degree in history and a secondary education
certificate in 2000. Zathey went on to earn a Master’s degree in
sports administration from Wayne State University in 2006. Zathey
holds a USSF ’A’ License.

A native of Livonia, Michigan. Mark is single and currently resides in
Redford, MI.
