BUCKS HOST LINDSEY WILSON-OAKLAND SATURDAY
Game Wraps Up Two Weeks Of Top College Soccer

Pontiac, MI (March 31, 2009) -- The Michigan Bucks will host another college powerhouse this Saturday April 4, 2009 when Lindsey Wilson (KY) takes on Oakland University at 8:00 PM at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac. Tickets for the game are specially priced at only $7 (adults), $5 (students and youth with ID), with children 5 and under FREE.

Lindsey Wilson and Oakland University have sent a number of players to the Bucks since the team’s inception in 1996. In 2008, the two schools contributed eight players to the Bucks Regular Season Championship team and will again send a comparable amount this season. As both teams look to defend their Conference titles in the fall, this spring match up will serve as a great measuring stick.

Lindsey Wilson is a perennial leader in the NAIA, having won seven national championships in school history.  Bucks fans have enjoyed watching some of the finest players to ever wear a Lindsey uniform, including current Major League Soccer players Kheli Dube (New England Revolution) and Boyzzz Khumalo (DC United).  The Bucks outstanding run the past three seasons, where they made appearances in the PDL Championship game in 2006 and 2007 and were the overall 2008 PDL Regular Season champions, was led by Lindsey stars Nate Jafta and Ty Shipalane.  The Bucks have commitments from two more of the top Blue Raiders for the 2009 PDL season this May.

College Cup Classic Wrap

It was the out-of-state teams that took home the glory in Saturday’s College Cup Classic Presented by adidas. Akron, ranked #2 in the nation last year, won both matches, defeating Oakland 2-0 and Michigan 4-0 in back-to-back games.

Notre Dame came away with a win and a draw. The Irish opened up with a 1-1 result against Oakland, where the Golden Grizzlies Ron Dewberry equalized late in the second half after a feed from striker Sebastien Harris.

It was a different story against Michigan, where the first half ended 1-1, after a goal from Michigan midfielder Adam Shaw was set up by Bucks/Michigan striker Jake Stacy.  In the second half it was a different story as the Irish dropped two goals on the Wolverines to have it end 3-1.
