BUCKS TO HOST THREE HUGE EVENTS AT ULTIMATE SOCCER OVER THREE WEEK SPAN
College Cup presented by Adidas on March 27 featuring top ranked Akron
Pontiac, MI (March 19, 2010)- The Michigan Bucks are gearing up for their fifteenth Premier Development League (PDL) season this spring with three top soccer events, all to be held at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac. Kicking off the three week soccer spectacular is the second annual Bucks College Cup presented by Adidas. Fans will be treated to four games on Saturday, March 27 from 12-6 PM for one low ticket price of only $12 (children 5 and under are always free to Bucks games). This year fans will be treated to some of the area’s finest men’s college soccer teams, including local favorites the Oakland Grizzlies and Michigan Wolverines. This year’s out of state guests include perennial power the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and last year’s national college runner-up Akron Zips. The Zips led the country all year as the #1 ranked team in the nation, going undefeated throughout the regular season and un scored upon in the NCAA tournament before falling to Virginia in penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie in regulation and overtime. Bucks fans will get to not only see some of the nation’s top college players on display, but will get their first look at several of this year’s Bucks team (to be announced soon). As a special attraction, Adidas has proudly donated customized Michigan Bucks College Cup T-shirts for the first 750 youngsters (16 and under) through the door on March 27. Adidas is also proud to introduce the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa game ball to be used for all four matches. Nicknamed “Jabulani.” the eleven colored ball represents the eleven languages spoken in South Africa, as well as the eleven men on the pitch for each team. College Cup II doubleheader on April 10 features Michigan vs. Michigan State in the main event
On Saturday, April 10 the Bucks will sponsor College Cup II at Ultimate Soccer Arenas and will include a double header of NCAA men’s soccer action beginning with the host Oakland Grizzlies taking on Notre Dame College (Cleveland, OH) at 5:00 PM followed by the state’s favorite rivalry, Michigan- Michigan State at 7:30. General admission tickets for the two game event are $10 all ages at the door on Saturday, April 10 (children 5 and under free). Presale tickets are only $7 and will be available beginning March 27 at Ultimate Soccer Arenas during the Bucks College Cup presented by Adidas. The Wolverines will be trying to avenge the Spartans dominance on the field since Michigan joined the NCAA as a division one soccer program ten years ago. Wolverine (and former Bucks) head coach Steve Burns looks to have the home field advantage, when he will be bringing his talented young team back to Ultimate Soccer Arenas for his fourth visit in the past twelve months.
Bucks spring youth soccer camp returns to Ultimate Soccer week of April 5-9
The Bucks annual spring youth soccer camp at Ultimate Soccer Arenas will be held from Monday to Friday, April 5-9 from 9 am- 3 PM at a discounted rate from last year at only $189. Any additional family members attending this camp will receive an additional 15% discount per camper. Bucks camp is taught by several of the professional and college players along with members of the Bucks coaching staff to insure the highest quality of training, education, competition and fun. Our camps are open to boys and girls of all ages (specifically between 6-15). As an added bonus, all campers will receive two tickets to the College Cup II ($20 value), which takes place on April 10, the day following the conclusion of Bucks camp.
